    Does anybody have a grief support building specifically for grief support meetings that is available to the public?

    There are a few in our area, but our organization does not.  There is the Dougy Center, not affiliated with a hospice, and also there is Community Home Health and Hospice (Vancouver, WA) that has one, and also PeaceHealth Hospice (Vancouver, WA) that does as well.

    Hi -
    We have a bereavement center attached to two of our IPUs.  Our groups are open to the community.
    I am not sure if that answers your question.

    Hi Diane;
    How many groups do you run per week (PreCOVID)?  What kinds of groups?
    Do you charge for your groups?
    Did you have to do a capital campaign to build your buildings?
    Thank you in advance for your assistance.

    Hi Beth -
    Here are your answers.

    How many groups do you run per week (PreCOVID)? What kinds of groups? We have a wide variety of groups. Right now groups are virtual. Please see our website for access to our newsletters. https://hospicewr.org/news-and-media/publications/Pages/About-Grief.aspx

    Do you charge for your groups? All groups are free and open to the community.

    Did you have to do a capital campaign to build your buildings? Yes, we did.

    Diane

    Since moving to our new facility, bereavement and volunteer services shares a wonderful space which is located near the entrance of the building for easy access for bereaved family members and the community-at-large. It includes an area for a large group (up to 20); a smaller conference room (10-15); 3 work spaces/cubbies as well as two reading corners. We love having the space, and prior to Coronavirus, others did too!
