Beyond Tolerance: Cultural Humility in Caregiving (Chat Slides and Recording)

01-16-2018 11:24 AM

In January's section chat we discussed cultural competence, but we're learning that simply learning about other cultures is not enough. What we need in order to care well for persons of all backgrounds, cultures, and views is cultural humility that enables us to be aware enough of ourselves that we can navigate differences with respect and compassion.

NCHPP Spiritual Caregiver Section Leader, Rev. Dr. Carla Cheatham, MA, MDiv, TRT, led us on this important skill in caregiving.
