Slides for the March 2016 Bereavement Section Chat, "A Team Approach to Bereavement Care."

This chat highlighted the importance of a team approach to bereavement care and program management. All areas of the team are impacted by bereavement: nurses, aids, social workers, chaplains, volunteers, and managers. Though not always acknowledged, each team member has a role in the compliant bereavement program. This session offered support for BC’s and knowledge to supervisors/managers in creating a successful and compliant program that meets the needs of families and companies.

Facilitator: Sarah Layton, MSW, LCSW, Bereavement Coordinator, Heartland Home Health Care and Hospice, St. Louis, MO Co-facilitator: Patti A. Anewalt, PhD, LPC, FT, Director of the Pathways Center for Grief & Loss, Hospice & Community Care, Mount Joy, PA
