  • 1.  Music for Memorial Service

    Hello - Has anyone been able to find some public domain songs that might be appropriate for a hospice memorial service? Or gone through the process of trying to obtain licensure for a particular song?  This is the first time we're having our Hospice Memorial Service available by Zoom and we're running into issues with trying to have music.  We'd hoped to have a high school student sing "Over the Rainbow". Thank you for any suggestions!

    Lori,

    Generally anything before 1928 will be in public domain.  I think O Danny Boy is in that category.  A lot of Celtic and Old Time laments might work.  Going Home is also a good one.

    Hi Lori. I know this is not exactly what you asked, but we just worked with this organization https://hereisasongforyou.org/. They wrote an original song that we will use for our annual memorial Night of Remembrance. They are an amazing group!
