Hi Erin,
I am attaching a copy of some of our emergency procedures. This is the work of our amazing Camp Erin coordinator, Christi Crowley - giving credit where it is due. We have these in our volunteer handbook and they are used to educate our staff and volunteers about what to do in the event of various emergencies. It doesn't really address what we would do on the staff side of things, for example if a camper did not turn up. We would also utilize 911 systems and I would also be initiating calls to our health system administrator on call and security team. Last year we had a consultation session with the Security team for our health system before camp, to review all of our procedures. It was so helpful and reassuring that we had the right systems in place. There were also a few new things we started doing that came out of that discussion with a security professional, so I highly recommend it. Among those new things was the suggestion that we connect before camp with the local police/ sheriff department that would be responding to us in the event of such an emergency in the rural area where we hold our camp. We let them know about our camp, who we are, and the dates/times that we would be there in the event of an emergency to which they might have to respond. This also helps with peace of mind. Hope this is helpful and always glad to share ideas about camp.

Our Camp Director and myself are preparing for our annual children's grief camp this summer. We were wondering if anyone has a policy in place for if a child goes missing during camp, and if so, be willing to share their policy?
