    Good Day All!
I am looking to possibly start a virtual support group. I know a lot of programs have been using and promoting Zoom as a platform. Our Organization has banned this platform as the Hospital did not feel it was safe and secure with so much patient information at risk for exposure. What other platforms are you all using aside from Zoom?

Thank you ahead of time for any and all input.

We are using Microsoft Teams and it is fairly comparable to Zoom.

    We're using Teams, as well.

Our Hospice uses Go To Meeting. The free version is only 40min and limits the number of attendees. For a group you will definitely need the upgrade.

We are currently using Zoom as well as MS Teams but the connection has been poor, especially audio. We are looking into a license for Zoom for Healthcare for the HIPAA compliance piece. Would like to hear more about what others are doing for telehealth platforms.

Yes, we also use HIPPA compliant Zoom for support groups, with DocuSign for consents and virtual agreement forms. It has worked well, especially because now all new group members are screened before coming to a group in order to register to receive email with Zoom link.

Hi Jessica, we also use a HIPAA compliant Zoom platform. Hope you find the best platform for your organization.

Our organization has the same concerns regarding the safety and security of Zoom. We have been using Webex for our virtual groups.

For what ever it is worth- We have had great success with the privacy upgrades the Zoom had done early on- I find participants have a bit more familiarity with Zoom- but bottom line-   making an effort of something is valuable.  The more we get use to the virtual world- the more meaningful support and seeing one another can be.   we had an enormously successful 6 week group- and it mattered to the participants so see one another-    it is added value-  I recently also shared a well done you tube video interfaith Blue Christmas with my team and community colleagues-  I did not have time or staff to complete one for us- but so well done   thanks to bereavement colleagues!!!   love the sharing of resources!!!  collective wisdom is AWESOME

We use Cisco Web Ex meetings. Our organization felt the same way. It has worked well for my virtual grief groups. For persons not used to working with computers, they are disappointed having to down load something other than zoom. As the host I am able to help them with their microphone etc.

We use Microsoft Teams. Once people get connected it works well, but we do have issues with people receiving a cancellation email immediately after we send the meeting invite. It doesn't happen every time, but it's very confusing for people even when we tell them to disregard it.

We are using Zoom and asking participants to sign a Telehealth waiver that acknowledges we can not guarantee privacy in a telehealth setting. The nature of our groups are psychoeducational or informal discussion. Participants are invited to share as little or as much as they are comfortable doing.

No sessions are recorded and all groups are password protected. Individuals have to register in advance to get the meeting id and password for the series. We chose Zoom because it was most likely for people to be familiar with and it has an option for participants to call in if they do not have a device that supports video. It has worked well for us and we have had a few phone only users participate.
