With Mother's Day coming up, I wanted to acknowledge that this holiday can be a very emotional day. Some of us no longer have our Mothers with us physically, but they live on in our memories (for better or worse). I just wanted to acknowledge the day, and encourage us to support each other.
I've written a poem to share with my kids one day. You are invited to let it speak to you.
Take care,
Patty
Bellybutton
I've left a mark on you. A message, if you will.
A daily reminder of the time we were so connected,
that I carried you next to my heart.
I was the air that you breathed, before you took your first breath.
That's just the way it is with mothers.
I have a secret. Every mother does.
I have hidden little love notes in your heart.
Placed gently, to be found as you journey through life.
Reminders of how dearly you are loved.
I will always be with you.
As I once carried you inside me;
you now carry me inside you.
Mothers stay with us forever, even if we never see them again.
A mother's presence in one's life leaves a tattoo on their soul.
You are more than enough.
You are precious.
You are mine.
