Hello All,
We just updated the EGSS page with Important Dates regarding both the FEBS and EGSS. Hopefully, you all also saw NewsBriefs' Top Story this week! If not, I have posted it here too. Please email egss@nhpco.org with specific questions regarding your transition or respond to this group if you have general questions or want to chat with other FEBS/EGSS users!
Here is the text from NewsBriefs:
Current FEBS users, please note: The updated survey known as Evaluation of Grief Support Services (EGSS) will replace FEBS, so if you haven't checked out EGSS, take a look! And here are some dates to make note of:
- July 15 will be the last day that current FEBS users have to enter FEBS survey data.
- A January-June 2018 report for FEBS will post August 1 in the Portal.
For all hospices interested in utilizing EGSS:
- EGSS survey data entry will be accessible July 16 in the Portal.
- Once you have reviewed the updated EGSS survey, you are welcome to customize it as needed to reflect the services that you offer in your bereavement program and can begin mailing it out.
- Once you begin receiving them back to your hospice, you will need to hold on to them until the changes are made in the Portal July 16.

FEBS to EGSS Transition
Important Dates
| Time Period for Surveys Received | Data Submission Period | Report Available with National Comparative Data |
FEBS | 1st half of year (Jan 1 – Jun 30) | January 16 – July 15 | August 1 |
EGSS | (Feb – Dec 31)* | July 16 – January 15 | February 1 |
We posted the EGSS surveys for use in February 2018. Dates vary for when hospices initially begin mailing EGSS surveys and receiving those surveys back. For this reason, the EGSS initial report will say February - December 2018. The timeframe for data entry begins July 16. We will resume six-month reports for the Jan-June 2019 reports.
