We recently had a discussion about "recertification" of bereavement services with our VP of Quality. The basic gist of our discussion was that each bereaved individual is unique and our approach to their care must be individualized within the 13 months of " bereavement support." We cannot impose any sort of formalized "recert" period. However, we can review their plan of care at established intervals and discharge them from 1:1 when their goals are reached. I believe that following the structure of a "plan of care review" keeps services individualized and focused on the clients who need it the most. Some clients may need more than 8-10 sessions and some less.
