    Hi Lea

Many agencies are unable to share their agency job descriptions in this forum.

I did check and the The NHPCO Guidelines to Bereavement second edition does not include a sampe job description, but does include components of a competency assessment for bereavement professionals in the appendix. On page 22, the guide talks about education and competency. "Most hospices employ professionals with training in one of the psychosocial or spiritual care disciplines to coordinate bereavement care and provide services to grieving families....  They should have mental health, grief and loss knowledge and professional experience and basic understaning of human development and behavior.  Mental health and bereavement expertise is important given the complexity of human nature...." Licensing and professional certification programs can enhance competency.  Our agency utilizes social workers and professional counselors in this role.  The job description would really need to be based on the scope of services that your program offers.

    Hope that helps a bit.
