In January's Certified Nursing Assistant Section Chat we discussed how falls are common with our Hospice patients and in some cases, may cause severe injuries and/or hasten death.  Hospice Aides often have the most contact with patients and families, and are in a position to be able to identify fall risks and help in prevention.  They also may be the first to hear about a fall.  The chat session focused on prevention and identify what to observe, document and report re: falls.
