  • 1.  Honoring Veteran Patients

    Hello! Our annual "Gathering of Remembrance" service is coming up in April. I was curious to hear if/how other's are honoring their Hospice Veteran patient's during the remembrance service. In the past, we haven't added anything extra, but I would like to incorporate something for their families this year.

    ​Hi Renee-

    We list all the veteran patients and do a special table of remembrance, if you google it you will see what it looks like. It includes an empty place setting.

    We have added this into our Memorial Services in the past couple of years.  It's become a favorite part for many of us.  Our chaplain explains that we are going to honor our veterans.  Then she reads each branch of the military and asks that if the deceased, or the loved ones present,  are connected with that branch, stand and remain standing while the others are read.  It's beautiful...
